Richard began his career of ten years with Control Data Corporation after graduation from Michigan State University with a B.S. degree in Mathematics and Computer Science.
After spending ten more years at two west coast high technology start-ups, he founded his own high tech firm in 1991, which he ran for over 5 years.  In 2000 he began studying and trading stocks, eventually moving to options, then futures in 2002.

He has two grown daughters living and working in Minneapolis after graduating from the University of Kansas and the University of IL at Chicago, both with honors. He lives with his wife Deborah in Eden Prairie, MN.
